About Ermineskin Community League
Incorporated in 1978, the Ermineskin Community League (ECL) is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to enriching life in our community in Southwest Edmonton.
ECL serves two communities: Ermineskin and Steinhauer.
Both are located in southwest Edmonton. The Ermineskin neighbourhood is named for Chief Ermineskin of Maskwacis, and Steinhauer for the missionary who settled in Alberta during the mid-1800s, Henry Bird Steinhauer.
The neighbourhoods are bounded on the west by 111 Street, on the south by 23 Avenue, on the east by Calgary Trail and Gateway Boulevard and on the north by 34 Avenue.
The community is represented by the Ermineskin Community League, established in 1978, which maintains a community hall and 2 outdoor rinks located at 107 Street and 32A Avenue.
The communities are served by 3 public and 3 Separate Schools:
The neighborhoods are serviced by the Century Park LRT station located in Ermineskin and have convenient access to major shopping areas of Southgate Center & South Edmonton Common as well as to the William Lutsky Family YMCA.
Thanks to the efforts of our many wonderful volunteers and community supporters, we offer a range of programs and events throughout the year that brings our community together, from yoga to quilting and Dance Fitness classes to our popular annual Craft Fair. Please see the detailed descriptions of the various events and activities available under the Programs tab.
Volunteers needed!
Volunteers are truly the lifeblood of all community leagues, and we are no exception. If you are interested in volunteering for Ermineskin, please check out the Volunteer Opportunities page.
